Introduction to Public Search

The Avenu Records Public Search tool allows you to search county records online and make purchases from your home or business. You can also visit the county/parish office to perform a kiosk search and pick up copies at the counter. You will need to set up a GRIDS account to begin searching. You will also need a PayPal account to cover any copy/printing fees or applicable fees for search access.

Use of PayPal to Process GRIDS Charges

A PayPal account is required to pay for all GRIDS transactions. If you don’t have a PayPal account, you can set one up, or you can use an existing PayPal account.

PayPal is used to fund your GRIDS account to cover subscription fees or miscellaneous charges such as copy and printing fees. If you like, you can keep funds on hand to simplify the purchase process. PayPal will store your GRIDS funding transactions and send receipts to the email associated with your PayPal account.

PayPal also charges its own transaction fees as part of this service but there is no charge to simply establish a PayPal account.

Search Access Fees

Some counties and parishes allow free access while others charge fees to search their records. Search access time can be purchased one day or several months at a time.

Document Copy and Printout Fees

If you choose to order document copies or printouts, you can pay directly from the search module as you are viewing them or add them to your cart. If you have GRIDS account funds available, you can draw from them to make the payment; otherwise, you can view the total cost for the copies or printouts in your cart and use PayPal to add funds to GRIDS if necessary to check out.

To create a new GRIDS account, click the links below and follow the instructions for each step:

• Click Sign Up to Create a New Account*

• Respond to the eMail to Confirm Registration

• Log In to GRIDS Public Search

NOTE: *Where applicable, you will be redirected to pay an initial deposit fee for search access through PayPal before you can complete your GRIDS account registration. See below for more information.

GRIDS Account Setup with Search Access Fees

When you sign up for a GRIDS account in counties or parishes that charge fees to access Public Search, you will be routed through PayPal to pay for an initial period of search time. Once the initial deposit has been paid, you will be returned to complete the GRIDS account registration process.

• Respond to the eMail to Confirm Registration

• Log In to GRIDS Public Search

Access your GRIDS account to:

• Update your personal information (See Edit Information)
